Breakfast in Bowral @ Red Tree Cafe

Yesterday morning I found myself in Bowral dropping my sister off at a wedding because I’m a pretty awesome sister.  I dragged my poor boy along under the pretence of “let’s have a nice big breakfast and a coffee down there at this great cafe” – now all I had to do was find said cafe!

Red Tree Cafe sits on Station St which runs parallel to the main strip and yes, is where Bowral train station is located.  It looks inconspicuous from the outside with only a small sign which you cannot see when driving in a car so we missed it and had to u-turn it back:

It doesn’t look like much from the front but once you go inside it opens right up and they also have parking at the back.  The interiors have been carefully thought out.

Soy flat white

‘Breaky Stack’ – potato rosti, baby spinach, roasted tomato, poached eggs, pesto, pancetta and grated parmesan

‘Big breakfast’ – bacon, chicken sausages, spinach, tomato, mushrooms, poached eggs with sourdough toast

The food was absolutely amazing! You could tell the produce was really fresh and perfectly cooked. The coffee was obviously good, being Di Lorenzo coffee beans.  Both meals we had were only $16 which is a bargain compared to Sydney prices.  If you’re ever in the area or even an hour away, do yourself a favour and get down there!

We didn’t see these pastries until the end when we went to pay – probably a blessing in disguise!
